tutorial 4 (retouching photo)

Retouching is a common technique in editing photographic imagery.

In
Photoshop, you can make the object in photo disappear and leave without any mark.
I called it as "
Perfect Plastic Surgery".
Well, Madam Lydia called it as "Transformation".
It has the same meaning, I think!
It's like when you feel like remove a stranger from your photo, click on the person and

Poof!

Vanished!

If a magician needs a magic wand to perform magics, we have Photoshop as a magic tool to let the magic begin in photos.

My steps of retouching:

(Remove the objects)
1. Starter
File > Open the image

2. Duplicate layer Ctrl + Alt + J
We do not want to destroy original picture. Besides, this will allow us to see the difference between BEFORE and AFTER.

3. Patch Tool J
Select the Patch Tool and start to draw the area that you want to remove. Click and Hold it and search the other proper area to make the unwanted element disappear, then release it.

4. Clone Stamp Tool S
Use Alt and Click on the area that you wish to be alike, release Alt, and start to paint the patched spot area. You can control the opacity and brush size in order to make the cloning not so obvious. This will increase the alikeness.

5. Whoala
Use Ctrl + D to Deselect the work and whoala! An object has been removed.

(Colorize)
1. Curves
Go to Image > New Adjustment Layer > Curves and adjust the colors like RGB, Red, Blue and Green.

(Text)
1. Horizontol Type Tool T
Choose a spot that you wish to let the words visible and start to type the words. Before typing the words out, select the type of words, size and colour.

2. Character
Sometimes you wish the size of letters more than 72 point but you have no other selection as the largest size in Control Panel is 72 point. No worry, go to Window > Character. Here, you can type the size that you desired.

(Insert image)
1. Open an image
File > Open an image

2. Duplicate layer
Use Ctrl + Alt + J.

3. Magic Wand Tool W
Select the image and enter Ctrl + Shift + I to inverse the image or focus on the main object of the image.

4. Lock Transparent Pixels
Click it and the background has vanished!

5. Place the image
Use Ctrl + A to Select All, then Ctrl + C to copy and go to the previous window and use Ctrl + V to paste. I use Overlay to blend the current layer into the previous layer.

Good luck!
